Real Estate Is More Enchanting to Indian Youth than Gold - Survey

It is believed that the youth in India are more inclined to invest in real estate rather than gold. According to a survey carried out, a startling 85% of those surveyed had an inclination to put their money into immovable with an intention to get guaranteed and higher returns.

The surveyed lot also revealed that they thoughtfully stayed away from investing in mutual funds, stocks and gold as these instruments were found to be riskier. They also were of the opinion that investing in the yellow metal was not as profitable as investing in real estate was concerned. It was likely that the gold prices might fall.

Moreover, the weak rupee and global slowdown has casted a gloomy shadow on stocks. This is because many companies are rationalizing the salary structure of their employees with an intention to cost cutting which diminishes the spirit of investment in the capital markets.

Despite this trend, there were many respondents who chose to invest in gold, stock markets and mutual funds.

It was also found that most respondents felt that investments in residential and commercial properties, real estate, were found to be more profitable and safer as they are wholly insured. This is in contrast to those in stocks, gold and mutual funds.

Moreover, in the survey it was also found that over 62% respondents, particularly professionals, chose real estate properties in Tier-I cities  in order to gain maximum returns.
